V4?
"New routes going up", once the word gets out the gym is suddenly scattered with life, color, and cursing from an angry climber suffering on his new problem. The climbing class' assignment was to set new routes. Sadly in a little under a month they will be taken down. Hardly enough time to project and complete them all.
I'm working a new project. Powerful, crimpy and overhanging. Everything I could ask for in a good climb. My droogs have been setting new routes and I have been the (unspoken) chosen one to climb on command and experiment with hold placement, proper technique and ratings. "I don't set routes, I climb them" is my usual response. Really, I am of little help but it gives me a chance to get pumped.
We will be hosting a bouldering comp with help from sponsors and school funds. Our outdoor instructor and a few of his climbing buddies will be setting routes. The majority of climbers will be students and locals. Unfortunately I will be receiving credit and certification for carving deep lines on my tele boards as I hone my avalanche skills in Jackson Hole that weekend. Freshies.

I like the clockwork orange reference.
Thought I remembered it but had to re-look it up. (rookie)
